Review of thyroid profile in patients with heavy menstrual bleeding in a tertiary care hospital

Background: Heavy menstrual bleeding (HMB) is defined as excessive blood loss which interferes with a woman's physical, social, emotional and/or material quality of life. It can occur alone or in combination other symptoms. Thyroid hormone affects pattern. The objective this study was to evaluate thyroid function women menorrhagia (HMB).Methods: type journal article. Study design- retrospective study. present conducted the Department obstetrics and Gynecology, cama albess hospital, Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, from period January 2021 July 2021, 51 reproductive age group between menarche-menopause HMB. Quantitative determination T3, T4 TSH by CLIA estimated autoanalyser.Results: About participated most subjects belong 45-49 years group. Maximum patients are multipara. Commonest cause fibroid. Most females euthyroid. HMB O +ve. In patients, anaemia due treated transfusion.Conclusions: Biochemical evaluation tests should be compulsory all detect dysfunction.
